Shealagh Rose

Shealagh Rose is a folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who blends storytelling lyrics with sweeping melodic lines and open tunings. With influences from Joni Mitchell to Stevie Nicks, she brings new levels of emotion to folk music. Shealagh moved to Toronto in 2012, where she received her Bachelor of Music from the esteemed program at Humber College as a vocal major. Focusing her college years on her songwriting, she worked alongside the likes of Rik Emmett from Triumph and also had the opportunity to record as a backup vocalist with the legendary Ken Scott (David Bowie, The Beatles, Elton John, Pink Floyd, and more). She began performing under the name Shealagh Rose in January 2016, and released her debut EP Island in July 2016. With the release of Island, Rose brings a new feel to a classic genre. Lush with soulful vocals, addictive progressions, and beautiful string sections, the record boasts the aesthetic of indie folk anthems.
