Theatre Aquarius

Theatre Aquarius presents a performance by teen artists. In summer 2017, Theatre Aquarius launched Summer Stock, a creative, intensive program for teens that offers training in the performing arts and guidance in the creation of their own work. Teens trained in acting, voice, dance, physical theatre, Story weaving (a theatre creation process developed by Indigenous artists), and play writing, all led by theatre professionals. Throughout the four-week program, teens explored original play writing and adaptation of source material. With professional theatre artists, individual and group pieces were refined and woven together into a 30-minute play. Themes of isolation, destruction, and the enduring power of art and community anchor this engaging, powerful piece of theatre. Suitable for all ages.

Theatre Aquarius is recognized as a leader in Canadian theatre. Theatre Aquarius produces work of the highest quality, premieres new plays, develops the skills of professional artists, invests in youth and families and contributes to the quality of life in this region. Theatre Aquarius is dedicated to improving this region through the arts and embodies the qualities that define us as a community: an appreciation for excellence, an appetite for diverse ideas and a need to connect with one another.
