Stop by the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre’s booth at Supercrawl to Express Your Button! Design and create your very own button that you can take home with you to remember your time at the festival. It’s fun for all ages — and, hey, everyone needs a button! You will be colouring pictures of animals and making buttons as a souvenir to take home with you. Choose from a variety of your favourite characters, Indigenous clans, superheroes and Disney princesses to colour, then team up with HRIC staff to create your own custom button! You can also explore information about programs and services provided through HRIC.
In 1972, a group of Aboriginal people who recognized a great need for a “Gathering Place” in the Hamilton community established a temporary cultural centre housed on Park Street South. Now a non-profit Aboriginal organization located on Ottawa Street North, the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre (HRIC) aims to create change that empowers urban Aboriginal people and provides them with the tools to achieve a holistically balanced lifestyle.
