This Ain’t Hollywood
With little hope in the worlds stability, punk/new wave band Komodo seek their existence in the Inter-zone. The place between fantasy and reality where tackling life’s most challenging issues can be filtered through imagination. In the beginning, founder Rich Forbes used this mantra while living in Toronto’s Chinatown to create music that deflects the abuse harmful substances and relations. Its a sound that blends the euphoria of British new wave with the comic nihilism of west coast punk. Gigging extensively sharing the stage with acts such as Nyssa, Paul Jacobs, Viagara Boys, Mother Tongues, Honey Harper, Ice cream, Whimm, and Pottery, Komodo is about to release their debut album High Wasted as a lens into the obstacles of being outclassed in a morphing city.
Komodo play Supercrawl partner venue This Ain’t Hollywood on Saturday September 14 along with The Be Sharps, Nyssa, and La Chalet. 9pm door, $10 cover.
