PIPER HAYES
Saturday September 14
12:00pm-12:45pm
Mohawk College Stage
Born in New York, raised in Toronto, and a Hamiltonian since 2015, critically acclaimed folk/roots singer, songwriter and social activist Piper Hayes is truly authentic. From festival stages to intimate house concerts, Hayes reminds us of why we go to see live music. Her songwriting is free and fiercely personal; as if it’s been running in the woods, washing in cold water, and howling with wolves. Piper’s immersive storytelling provides context and familiarity, drawing the audience into the conversation. She is a two time nominee of the Ontario Arts Council’s Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award in 2016/2017 and an advocate for mental health and social change.
